The Challenge
RadBytes had a live production platform and an AI tutor, Cubey, but needed a long-term engineering partner to make it reliable and evolve it into a scalable, multi-product platform. We did not build the original app; we inherited someone else’s production system.
Our Solution
We took ownership of the existing codebase, hardened its reliability, and extended it from a single exam pathway into a multi-product platform with a B2B academy layer and cross-sectional imaging.
Key Deliverables
Cubey AI tutor: reset-progress flow, filter-aware case navigation and a dedicated radiographer prompt set alongside the FRCR pathway
B2B academy layer: institution & membership model, invite-link and QR signup, role-based access, institution-level contract expiry and an admin dashboardBuilt from scratch
Reliability: removed a synchronous blocking call in the chat flow, scaled workers to CPU cores and added read-endpoint caching, validated at 300 concurrent users
Long Cases: Cornerstone3D viewer migration, manifest-first streaming for CT/MRI studies of 300–800 slices, bulk upload with anonymisation, and a Longs pricing tierBuilt from scratch
